Loppa – Kommunegrense fra fortiden/ Municipal boundary of the past

  Steinen markerer dagens kommunegrense mellom Alta og Loppa kommune Den står langs den gamle Øksfjordveien. Tidligere markerte den kommunegrensen mellom gamle Talvik kommune og Loppa. Talvik kommune er ein tidlegare kommune i Finnmark.
Om Talvik kommune. (Kilde: Wikipedia) Kommunen vart oppretta i 1863 då dåverande Alta-Talvik kommune vart delt inn i kommunane Alta og Talvik. Alta og Talvik høyrde lenge saman i eitt prestegjeld. Hovudkyrkja låg i Talvik, kyrkjebygget stod ferdig i 1705. Dagens kyrkje vart vigsla i 1883. Hasvik sokn vart skilt ut frå prestegjeldet i 1720 og lagt til Loppa prestegjeld. Alta-Talvik formannskapsdistrikt vart oLoppa kommuneskille 1ppretta i 1837. Kongeleg resolusjon av 25. februar 1857 bestemte at Alta skulle verte eige sokn og ei kyrkje skulle reisast. Alta og Talvik vart delt i to prestegjeld ved kgl. res. 27. september 1862. Etter utskiljinga i 1862 hadde Talvik kommune 1 938 innbyggjarar.
I 1964 vart kommunen slått saman med Alta til nye Alta kommune. Talvik kommune hadde 3266 innbyggjarar og utgjorde 1650 km2 før samanslåinga. Den tidlegare kommunen svarar til soknet.
Namnet er anten avleidd av trenamnet tall, ‘furu’, eller ei forvansking av det samiske Dálbmelukta, kan bety ‘tåkebukta’.

About Talvik municipality. (Source: Wikipedia) The municipality was established in 1863 when the dredging Alta-Talvik municipality was divided into communal Alta and Talvik. Alta and Talvik heard for a long time in one priesthood. Hovudkyrkja was located in Talvik, the church settlement was completed in 1705. The church of the day was wedlocked in 1883. Hasvik was divorced from the priesthood in 1720 and added to Loppa Priesthood. Alta-Talvik presidency was established in 1837. The Royal Decree of 25 February 1857 decided that Alta should be in possession of a church and a church should be resurrected. Alta and Talvik where divided into two royal guilds by kgl res. September 27, 1862. After divorce in 1862, Talvik municipality had 1 938 inhabitants.

The name is an antenna derived from trained numbers, ‘pine’, or a distortion of the Sami Dálbmelukta, may mean «fog-gulf (bay)»
